Biography

Abraham "Abe" received his Bachelors of Music in Horn Performance from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Master of Music in Performance from the University of Florida in 2024. Now, he is currently working towards a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree at the University of Florida. He is a graduate assistant as well as a teaching assistant for the online Experiencing Music course. In addition, his cognate focuses on Latin American culture which has him collaborating with the Center for Latin American Studies.
Abraham has been an active member of the UF Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony. He has an extensive background performing in wind and brass quintets, leading masterclasses, and has participated in many celebrated extracurriculars such as the Kendall Betts Horn Camp. He frequently attends conferences such as the Southeast Horn Workshops. His previous accolades include being the recipient of a fellowship to participate in the 2024 Imani Winds Chamber Festival, held at the Juilliard School at Lincoln Center. He is grateful to all his mentors including Kim McCann, Van Parker, Dr. Nancy Gamso, Dr. Antoine Clark, Dr. Timothy Roden and Dr. Paul Basler.

Exciting stuff! To start, my first doctoral recital is here. Join me on February 18th at 7:20pm at the UF School of Music for a night of great music. This event is free and it will be in person as well as online.On March 8th, I will accompany the wonderful Patrick G. Smith on his recital for one piece as a part of the 2025 UF BrassFest. Hope to see some of you there and as always, I appreciate the support.
